    • Okafor was born on 17 October 1961. He was from Umunekwu Village in Eziokwe, Amurri, NKanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.. After elementary school and the death of his father in 1974, Okafor moved to Sapele to stay with his brother. In Sapele, he did menial jobs so he could send himself to school and support his family. Okafor then worked as a hairstylist, ventured into photography and also worked in a company that produced crates. After secondary school, he was admitted into the College of Education, Yola, but pulled out due to financial difficulties. He later enrolled in the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.

    • John Okafor is from Nkanu West L.G.A. Enugu State. Following the death of his father in 1974, Okafor relocated to Sapele to live with his brother after finishing elementary school. He worked odd jobs in Sapele to pay for his family’s support and education. After that, he pursued careers as a hairstylist, a photographer, and a crate manufacturer. He was accepted to the Yola College of Education after completing high school, but he withdrew owing to financial issues. Later, as soon as he could afford it, he enrolled in the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.

      Health issues

      John Okafor disclosed in October 2023 that he had a condition that might require him to amputate one of his legs. He claimed that while working with other Nollywood actors and actresses on a movie set, he became aware of the issue. In order to pay for his medical expenses, he made a plea to his followers and the general public for money and prayers. In addition, he uploaded a video of himself expressing his fear of losing his limb while laying in a hospital bed.

      As of October 18, 2023, Okafor’s whole medical bill was covered by the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation, which was founded by the former Nigerian senate president. Additionally, according to the charity, Okafor still needed a lot of financial support to stay alive in the hospital and for.


      Amputating a leg

      Okafor suffered from a disease that necessitated seven surgeries, and in November 2023, he had his leg amputated. According to his family, the amputation was performed in order to prolong his life and improve his prognosis.
