- Though cracks had begun to appear on its wall by 2002, the Nnobi community in Anambra State remained a beacon of peace until April 9, 2003, when the community's last traditional ruler (Igwe), His Highness, Edmund Ezeokoli II, passed on to the great beyond. The community experienced unprecedented growth and development. The sons and daughters were everywhere around the globe, making waves in business and academia. They produced first-class businessmen and women, lawyers and other professionals. As at the last count, Ebenesi alone, one of the three quarters, making up the community, had produced over 20 professors in various universities across the country and beyond
